My father in law is like this. My mother in law was totally on board. They both crapped their pants when I told them my husband had zero say in who I vote for. My mother in law, the whole 40yrs of their marriage would take a piece of paper in with her with all the choices made by my father in law. She was PROUD of this! She passed just before Covid hit.
I always do the leg work for my husband and I. I don’t mind it, I don’t work. So I look up all the issues on the ballots, sum them up, pros/cons then say what I’m voting. The only votes I “tell” my husband to cast are for judge seats since our state lets us vote to retain, and that’s just because we really only vote no on problematic ones and abstain from the others. Otherwise, he votes how he chooses and I vote how I choose, though we both vote straight ticket Dem at this point.
When we first got married he was red and I was blue. Lol one night last week, my husband asked “who are we voting for?” At the table and my father in law about choked because a woman shouldn’t tell a man how to vote, a woman is supposed to do what the man says 😂😂😂
