[Spoiler (click to open)]I'm rewatching episode 8 now, and Agatha pretended like she had no idea it was Jennifer, but I feel like a part of her must've, even if she decided to tell herself she didn't know. (Maybe she forgot about it? It tracks considering how selfish she is.) Agatha very clearly has a "I before them" mentality that seems to grow more prominent/violent post-Nicholas' death. I definitely think she must've left Jennifer alone for the reasons you said, because what else was she doing?
What was she planning to do with Sharon? I wonder if she can drain their life forces? I wonder if Jennifer has a little bit of dormant magic for her to suck out? Does being bound mean you're empty of magic, or does it mean that it's literally tied up and inaccessible, but lingers within you?
I think Agatha's plan to drain them might've worked if she hadn't selected Lilia in particular. How many witches know she can drain them? Did that reputation of hers grow so big during her time as Agnes? Because it seemed really odd to me that she would continue the same scam if her reputation was so big people just knew her. (Unless the other witches were so arrogant and thought they could kill her?)
I have so many questions about so many things, but I like that the show doesn't necessarily answer them all-it tells the story it needs to tell and leaves you thinking.
I'm re-watching both episodes in an hour when my bf gets home and I'll be putting my ONTD School of Detectives degree to work!
I will say: [Spoiler (click to open)]I don't think she ever even saw Sharon as someone she needed to kill, let alone a person lol. Her whole attitude toward her screamed indifference (i.e. "What does your gut tell you?" when the door appeared) 'til the bitter end. Now that I think about it, the way both Wanda and Agatha treated Sharon as an "extra" is an interesting parallel.
I feel like you're sooo right re: Lilia being the foil. Jen called her a witch-killer, but they don't even know the truth about Nicholas Scratch, so how would they know about the scam? They all make it a point to say that no one survives The Witches' Road (except Agatha; R.I.P., diva DOWN! 💜) because Agatha has never left any survivors. But Agatha has also never rushed/botched a "ritual" like this before, so maybe she was just being sloppy!
