Johnny Depp is set to star in ‘DAY DRINKER’ alongside Penelope Cruz for Lionsgate, his most high-profile attempt yet to make a Hollywood comeback.
The film will be directed by Marc Webb.

- Depp has been cast in Day Drinker (yeah, that's right they decided to cast a man who struggles with alcohol and drugs in a film called day drinker)
- Marc Webb (who directed 500 Days of Summer and the 2025 liveaction Snow White) is set to direct
- Penelope Cruz who has worked with Depp on 3 previous films will be his co-star
- Producers include Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee who produce the John Wick series
- This marks the first legitimate shot that Depp has had at a Hollywood film since he appeared in a Fantastic Beasts film in 2018. All his projects since then have been small indies he either produced or directed and voice acting for a cartoon puffin
- His last on screen role was a supporting role in Jeanne du Barry in 2023
