LOL, it is wild for someone to have a beautiful name and change it to something ridiculous

One of the half-siblings I grew up with did this. She has a very beautiful French name but Midwest in the late 70s/80s no one knew that the French "Y" is silent and her name got botched so much she hated it and changed it to a shorter version legally.

That is my name and when I was in the USA no one could understand it at first try lol they kept calling me "gabrielle"at best

Oh, sorry if I was confusing, my name is the same as her birth name, Gabriela! It seems pretty straightforward to me and I had no problem with it in Canada or Europe but for some reason Americans couldn't get it on the first try lol
