He suggested she improvises something, she did, then he said that didn't work. This just sounds like any brainstorming/trying things in a creative environment, not mobbing or mockery, even in her own words.

These processes should mostly be worked out/rehearsed before they are filmed, ideally. I did theater and I know exactly what she's talking about. Directors who love to suggest something and expect you to get it immediately perfect on the first try and if you don't, they make a smarmy comment to shame you as if you're the reason it sucked and not because their idea was shit and last-minute.

Ok...so let's say you're a singer. I ask you to record a song for a movie. You do. I tell you, in front of 100 people that it basically sucked.

Then I put it in the film's official trailer....
