Friday, we saw Nightbitch at AFI Fest, with Queen Amy Adams doing a Q&A afterward. The movie didn't 100% work for me, but I did like it a lot -it was funny, and weird, and kind of sweet! Amy totally went for it, in a good way.
Last night, we watched The First Omen at home, and man, what a beautifully shot film. I'd been interested since I saw the trailer, with the backward walking and Fever Ray and whatnot, but my husband doesn't like horror movies so we never got to it in theaters. But then a bunch of you talked it up here, so I convinced him to watch it last night, and I absolutely loved the cinematography and the score. And Nell Tiger Free was great.
Today, we've got Hard Truths at AFI Fest - new Mike Leigh movie starring Marianne Jean-Baptiste. Excited for that!
