I can’t make small talk to save my life. So people probably think I’m rude or unfriendly.

i either make zero small talk or make small talk about the weirdest thing, last time i was at my doctor's, i ended up talking about window nets for mosquitos.

The hair salon is the worst for me. I’m stuck in a chair with someone using scissors on my head, and I just go blank. The poor hairdressers do try though and I’m just waiting for them to be done so I can leave. I do make sure I tip well so they know I appreciated their work.

The same woman has been cutting my hair for 30 years, she is a family friend, relative of a relative, and I can not make small talk with her other than answering what's up with my nephews XD

My father also makes the most random small talk. He'll start rambling about farm animals, historical facts, what building used to be across the street in the 1960s, etc. He's a very nervous fellow.

Same. I hate small talk so much that's actually a big reason I'll avoid getting my hair done as much as possible.

Every hairdresser I've had in the past decade always talks about real housewives (I've ever seen most of them) or love island (same) and they can't talk about anything else. Sometimes pop music (fml).

So it's always terribly awkward and I hate it.

I've been going to the same hairstylist for 20 years (ugh I just had a wave of "YOU'RE OLD" wash over me) and at this point he knows I just come in, we do the "how are things, did you go somewhere nice for vacation," chat and then I stfu for however long I need to be there lmao

I tend to respond to what people say to me but don't necessarily continue and ask questions of them.

I never make small talk with my hairdresser and we are actually friends lol I can't help it I just get sleepy whenever anyone touches my hair. And its super loud in a salon so I can't hear shit anyway.
