It's actually funny cause they seem polar opposites even though they some similarities. Whereas Tate seems more maximalist in videos, Addison is more minimalist in her videos.
Both are dancers but Tate is clearly more trained and serious, whereas Addison is not as serioius or have refined~.
Addison probably has a winning formula cause of the simplicity approach to her songs.
I liked Greedy and I was looking forward to Tate’s follow up but she dropped the ball so hard with the follow-up album that she rushed to put out while Greedy was still at the top of the charts, it was so bad lol. Also, while neither Tate nor Addison are amazing singers, I think Addison’s tone is at least fine to listen to while everyone has complained Tate’s tone is too nasally and grating. And finally, I think Tate doesn’t have a firm grasp of her artistic identity while Addison and her team have a stronger grasp on what people want to hear from her.
ok wait my only thought watching this video was that all the britney spears-esque x factor people keep "seeing" in tate mcrae needs to reconsidered and diverted to addison. And that's not to say tate isn't talented, she so obviously is, I loved the think later album and she's obvs a strong strong dancer. But idk man something about addison is kind of charming, and a lot of her dancing her just popped for me. and I'm too old to have followed her on tik tok so this is purely off her projected pop image.
Aside from the fact that I can't understand anything Tate is singing, I feel like her looks and dancing are much more of a copy+paste from girls like Britney and Christina compared to Addison. Like, people are saying this sounds like Madonna, but this is far from a direct copy of any of her songs.

I find this more palatable/enjoyable and interesting than all of Tate Mcrae’s ~oeuvre~ and I’m still trying to articulate why.
