I'll only accept it if its gender swapped to make it different. Otherwise we don't need it. And then give it to Aubrey Plaza. I literally tweeted her for it when it was first announced. Lemme manifest lol.

they actually tried gender swapping it already. There was a sequel movie where Mila Kunis played the lead

To be fair it was its own movie but they used the American Psycho title to try and sell this.

I know but that was so poorly written etc. But if it was a Patricia Bateman with similar characters, story might be better?

Maybe! I tend to agree with the folks above who say that white maleness is so necessary to that character that it doesn't really hold up to gender or race swapping the way most would, but it wouldn't be the first time I was surprised lol
