Oui !!! This is what I want **

I read so many of his books when a teen XD They had so many twists and incredible scenes. The books during the revolution are still my favourites (Joseph Balsamo, le collier de la reine, Ange Pitou et la Comtesse de Charny). The ones during the religion wars are amazing too. If you can read anything from Dumas - and I mean, anything - you'll do yourselves a favour. Pure and unhinged passion and adventure.

i rly should dust off my french and give it another go. if i just put in a bit of time and effort i could probably handle it, but it's a bigger commitment than german or english. is there one you'd rec that's maybe a little approachable?

Les Trois Mousquetaires is very easy to read ♥ Joseph Balsamo too. They are probably the easiest ones from Dumas imo. The language contains a lot of "old" vocabulary so that's very impressive if you read it in french tbh **

thank you! i'll try to get my hands on either novel <3

it will prob teach me a lot of words that won't help me on vacation in france, but useless knowledge is best knowledge, so. i'm sure it'll be fun! (plus i do sth history-related, maybe one day it'll come in clutch lol.)

Now that I think of it, maybe Joseph Balsamo will frighten you tho. It's like + 1000pages but it's a very addictive story.

The truly easy one is the three musketeers (and it has Milady **)
