For the upcoming spinoff series, The Penguin, "There was a lot of violence towards women, and that’s not my thing.”

Turturro declined to reprise his role in The Penguin, and the character was recast with Mark Strong.

But he found The Batman's Falcone tolerable because the violence he inflicts happens off-screen.

In fact, The Batman contains a scene in which Turturro's Falcone brutally attacks Zoë Kravitz's Catwoman/Selina Kyle with a billiard stick.

The Penguin's Falcone is every bit the misogynistic brute, but his actions are relegated to the off-screen imagination by being implied, rather than shown.
