Pretty sure my dad is voting Trump again, but unfortunately i think my mom is starting to lean that way too. Even if I come out to them, it probably wouldn't matter because "he's not going to do any of that stuff/things will be cheaper." It's not him necessarily who will, it's those he'll have around him controlling him.

Everything will absolutely NOT be cheaper if he gets to impose the tariffs he wants. I know he thinks that somehow the exporting countries pay tariffs, because once he gets a wrong idea stuck in his moldy old brain it can never ever get dislodged, but it's the purchasers in the country of import who pay them. So like, you and me, and your parents.

I'm sure you already know this, just that "stuff will be cheaper!" thing absolutely drives me into fits of screaming rage because the exact opposite will happen.

Oh i am well aware of all of that, but my parents aren't really politically engaged, and all of their friends/acquaintances are Trump fans. Plus, they go on FB a lot (and my dad doesn't think a woman should be president anyways). They're not MAGA but they're surrounded by white people who think he's amusing and a good businessman or something idk. But they live in NY, the state that personally knows he sucks???

And like i said, if i were to come out as bi to them idt it would make a difference, because they don't actually see or read any of the crap he or Republicans truly stand for.

I overheard a guy in the store talking about Tr*mp & said something like; "I don't like a lot of his policies. But if he can get gas down to $1.80 again, I'd vote for him."

I wanted to yell; "Gas was low because there was a Pandemic & no one was using their cars! He had nothing to do with it!"
