You can still find subcultures nowadays but they're just not present in media the way they used to be in the 90s/00s. Like, I can name a dozen of goth characters from a decade back but none in recent movies or TV. Same with subcultures like metalheads. Back then we had Beavis and Butthead, Wayne's World, Ted and Bill, Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny. The only character from a subculture I can name at the top of my head that came out in the past five years is Eddie from Stranger Things.

But like, punks, goths, metalheads etc are still out there, and are arguably growing more than they were in the 2010s. I see teen punks and emos making videos on how to DIY, how to behave in the scene, singing their favorite songs etc. Genres like darkwave and pop punk have been seeing a good amount of success from Tiktok. I'd even say that pop punk now is a lot better musically than it was ten years ago, even if it doesn't have the same mainstream success.

It also depends on where you're at. I'm in a big city where I can just google and find ten different bars that host punks or goths or whatever.
