He's been saying that it was never anything serious, just simply hooking up. He's been downplaying it, while you had Taylor mouthing at a show that she loves him. It's gonna make her seem like she's the crazy one for making an album about him (or more if the rumors are true that their love triangle inspired her folklore and evermore albums), making it seem like it was way more than that. You know she's pissed. He's moved on and is getting married. She's "moved on," and you know she's gonna make some subtle jab at a show. She's been in 3 relationships and 2 breakups this year. Joe moved one and said nothing while she was trying to provoke him. That was smart on his part. Matty and Taylor are one in the same, so he just knows where it hurts. Him not feeding the fire and saying it out loud is going to give her rage.
