honestly if you watch the show i wouldn't be surprised if they get like soap opera star salaries, it's super low budget. plus since none of the stars of the show ever broke out and became big from it, i doubt there's a lot of huge salary negotiating for this show

I’m assuming the Canadian government is basically paying them to continue making the show. They probably having one of those weird deals where as long as they hire a primarily Canadian crew, they get a bunch of tax write offs.
