Throughout the entire run of Friends, audiences were enamored with Ross and Rachels journey, waiting to see if they would end up together. I didn’t like this relationship, it felt like the writers didn’t know what to do. Also, I didn’t like how Joey got dumber and dumber every season and Phoebe got meaner and meaner. I used to want Joey/Phoebe together but oh well lmao

Paul Rudd just has to wedge himself in. He's not even letting his [Spoiler (click to open)]first character's death stop him from booking Only Murders in the Building. How can you say no?

Lmao this reminds me that there’s a fan conspiracy theory that Phoebe somehow dies and Ursula assumes her life, and that’s why she gets so mean 🤣

No excuses for Joey getting dumber. That’s just lazy writing.

Yeah, I binged it again few years ago and I was baffled by the progression, he was never a straight up idiot at the start, but he became a caricature of himself towards the end

Each of the characters became a caricature of their original characters. I feel like that happens way too often with US tv shows

Yea i agree, but it was most grating with these two imo, I actually think Monica got less annoying as seasons went on, Chandler was the same, Ross got a little more crazy but he was always weird anyway, but it was most noticeable with Joey and Phoebe to me :/

This happened on New Girl too, I couldn’t stand Nick by the end of the series, he became stupid as fuck

they did it to Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl. she went from a fairly nuanced character to a miserable shrieking harp archetype.
