You can do it! I changed my entire kitchen tap, tubes included, earlier this year. It was a bit finicky, but the process is actually quite simple. Just make sure you have the right tools. I recommend a selection of open-end wrenches and maybe a monkey wrench. Pipe wrench only on non-visible parts because it will totally scratch and destroy the chrome or similar finishes.
