I don't think it was a terrible idea in theory, but it doesn't seem like it was properly planned out or that they really had the budget to execute it well. Like, when I heard that Lindsay Crouse was supposed to be in more episodes and then they had to kill her off because they couldn't keep her, I was so unsurprised. The whole thing smacked of being done a bit on the fly.

Season four has great individual episodes but the season arc was weak.

aww there are some really good episodes in that season though! Superstar, Hush, Restless. completely agree that the arc of the season was weak though
