Viral meme sensation turned burgeoning queer pop icon Rebecca Black dropped her new track TRUST! and the accompanying music video this Friday (🤭) and spoke with B-Sides host Peter Mar about her next project, her recent Portola Music Festival performance, and showing up to Boiler Room.
"It felt only right to kick off the next project with the loudest and brashest track I’ve put out yet, and ‘TRUST!’ embodies the essence of the fearlessness in this project better than anything", Black says.
"A lot of it has to do with tapping back into who I was as a kid, for sure, which I was probably-annoyingly so-a big go-getter. I didn’t really feel like I had any barriers amongst, like, my creative abilities no matter how delusional that was, and that’s also a big theme amongst my next project."
"I think everyone should have a healthy dose of delusion of grandeur for themselves."
