Tell that to like 90% of Italy. Europe smokes a lot but Rome/Italy is the only place I felt like I couldn’t escape it.

my friend is in paris rn and he sent an audio in our group chat that was essentially him calling the city a giant ashtray for one minute straight, and at one point he was like EVEN THE CHILDREN SMOKE HERE (which is obviously not true but he really wanted drive the point home lol)

They might as well be lol. I was an au pair in Paris and I remember so many of the parents would come pick up their kids while smoking, some of them standing outside the school with strollers puffing away. This was 15 years ago so hopefully things are better as least wrt this particular aspect.

I remember hoping when they introduced that restaurants etc. needed to have a designated room for smoking (I think only really small places can have indoor smoking but I simply don't go to those) that a public smoking ban would follow in my country. Still waiting and considering punching people at tram stations who smoke while they wait.
