I was there last night, and ngl, of all of the potential guests (Billie, Lorde, Ariana), I was not super jazzed by this pick. I never got into Kesha, and I don't especially like the Spring Breakers remix. But it was cute to see the crowd all worked up for it!

I did not get the feeling that most people there (myself included) knew Tate McRae until he specifically said that's who it was, lol. In general, there was way more enthusiasm for Charli's parts of the show, which made me feel a little bad for Troye.

The show was pretty good overall, but honestly, of the pop girls I've seen in the past few years, I personally think Dua puts on a better performance! Charli is all about an attitude, and I respect and enjoy that, but I truly appreciate that Dua does a bunch of choreo and actually sings most of her songs. Troye did a lot of choreo as well, which was fun, but he just doesn't have as many good songs.

Not terrible, but I kind of get what they were getting at, and I think it's a combination of factors.

It was my first show wearing earplugs, but every time I took them out to see if I could go without, it was deafening. And people were all dressed in Brat attire, and moving and jumping and dancing and whatnot throughout the show.

But I will say that I've definitely been to shows that have a *spark* in the air that this one didn't really have. And in general, LA crowds can be kind of chilly compared to other cities - I think there are a lot of folks that go to shows just to be seen and post to socials, and don't actually care about the show.

But in this case, I think the crowd was mostly fine and into it, but the show maybe just didn't get everyone as hyped as they would have liked. I think the back and forth between Troye and Charli kind of added to that, like, I enjoyed the swapping but nothing could BUILD, if that makes sense. As soon as the room would get going, they'd switch.
