Lisa found Danny's confidence and cockiness attractive and is naturally drawn to alpha males because she doesn't like to wear the pants in the relationship despite being a strong willed woman. She credits that to her father being a powerful man.

This really explains her terrible taste.

I wouldn't describe Michael Jackson as an alpha male so I wonder what made her marry him...Like, sure, he was the most famous singer in the world but with that speaking voice...(not to mention what he was doing bts, but I assume she didn't know that part at the time)

It was an act. Lisa says in the book. So has Riley in an interview (NPR Fresh Air). Id definitely say he was an alpha male when it came to being in control...
