"Hey where are the daily Nobel Prize posts?" said no one. I had a busy week last week and wasn't able to do the daily posts, so here's a round up for the nerds who care. Let's go!

the comments under Aljazeera’s post (I think it was AJ) announcing the peace prize recipient were so gross. There was literally one that said “who cares? Free Palestine” and a ton of people complaining that it wasn’t given to an org that supported Palestinians. As if working towards a nuclear-free world is just some indulgent hobby of some people that will never impact anyone besides the Japanese.

I’m sorry but what has happened to critical thinking? Like the shift I’ve seen towards support for Russia in particular because they’re anti-US and Israel… like yes let’s reject US hegemony and imperialism and Western hypocrisy but that doesn’t mean we immediately run to embrace a new regime like Russia or China or Iran. Holy fuck.

tbh, ignore those comments. those are usually the comments that blue maga types will pick out and say "this is annoying and not the right way to get people to support palestine" cuz they are pretty bot-like. same with the comments pushing for russia just to be anti-US. those are also pretty bot-like responses that no one takes seriously or engages serious convos with.

what should be commented upon is the actual video of the nihon hidankyo co-chair saying even he thought it would be palestine groups to win the peace prize as their suffering reminds him of japanese suffering

"I thought those fighting hard for peace in Gaza would deserve it."

Toshiyuki Mimaki, the Japanese anti-nuclear campaigner whose group, Nihon Hidankyo, won the Nobel Peace Prize, says he was surprised they won the award instead of people working to stop Israel’s war on Gaza. pic.twitter.com/LPMHqGuUzL

him crying almost did me in. I cannot imagine living through something like an atomic bomb, losing loved ones and seeing people suffer in the aftermath :(

I saw the comments of an Al jazeera / AJ of the speaches of this man and they were all praising him, his work and thanking his comments of the people in Gaza.
The Internet y full of shit people, sometimes it's luck when you see a good o bad response of the same subject even in the same media.
