Woof, this is brutal. I can't imagine being in Riley's position and having to go in depth about my mom's trauma.

I am so fucking angry about so many of the situations described that she endured I don’t even know where the hell to start 😡🥺

Yeah. Lisa gets a little detailed with the sexual abuse that was so heavy, I needed to take a break. It was too heavy and you understand why her life was so hard and why she got sucked into a cult.

The next chapter is very light and fun and sweet, it was such a relief to get that break from the trauma.

Elvis was a sack of shit. But if there is any sort of afterlife and he’s watching his 9 year old become more and more depressed with no one caring, getting emotionally and sexually abused, and turning to heavy drugs all because of his death, then I do really feel for him.

OP just to say thank you for these posts (and your others as well). I don’t have as much time anymore to be online when they happen but let me tell you I am reading them at 2 am during a middle of the night feeding and I really appreciate how thorough and objective you are.

Wow, stuff with Edwards is very wrong! It breaks my heart that a child had to figure out this awful abuse on her own. And i am pretty shocked at how adults around her (i guess mostly Edwards and Priscilla) normalized molestation. I wonder if Edwards and Priscilla asked Lisa to keep the fact that she was molested by Edwards a secret at the time? Or was it more culturally acceptable, so there was no need?

Her school experience is also interesting to me. I guess lack of stability was a big factor. But would have it been better if she was just taken out of school? Home schooled?

Home schooled would’ve been worse for Lisa….she was already neglected by Priscilla.

Reading between the lines, Lisa would’ve fell through the cracks and would’ve been more behind than she was if she got into homeschooling.

She seemed to thrive for a bit in public schooling cuz she felt the kids there were more inviting and open to her friendship. But of course Priscilla pulled her out of that cuz she felt her daughter was too good to mingle with the plebes.

Thank you for this OP. This makes perfect sense. I always feel like I don't have a chance in hell due to csa as well. I always have that radar for people and I'm usually right.
