• Singer and star of Wicked, Ariana Grande makes a grand return to SNL tonight!
• Grande last appeared on the show as the musical guest in March of this year, but she had kept her distance from the show for a while (for obvious reasons). She last hosted all the way back in March of 2016. How long ago was that? Only three cast members from that “era” are still currently on the show: Kenan Thompson, Colin Jost, and Michael Che.
• Also making a grand return to Studio 8H is the legendary Stevie Nicks. Nicks has only ever appeared on the show once before, and that was back in 1983. That was during season 9 of the show, notably one of the seasons that was produced by someone other than Lorne Michaels.

• In the spirit of the 50th anniversary, the show took to Twitter yesterday to commemorate the October 11, 1975 premiere of the show by sharing the opening credits. The events leading up to this premiere were dramatized in the Jason Reitman movie Saturday Night which premiered widely this weekend.
