a woman who makes no apologies for wanting neither kids nor cats.
I also saw she expanded on that. I’m a cat mom. Grew up with a cat and adopted my bff’s cat when she couldn’t take care of it (debatable…) but it’s still A LOT. She’s super chill and is older yet so low key but you never know what will happen.
I give credit to parents of children. I still don’t understand how my dad was able to raise me and my sister as a single dad.

Yep, pets are expensive! I've spent at least 10K in the past ten years on my pets. Three of them needed surgery. My precious kitty right now has a heart condition. My dog requires professional grooming. My brother got two kittens, and I'm forcing him to get them neutered. They have their first vet appointment on Monday, which I of course had to schedule. Sigh!

I hope your baby is ok and can be diagnosed quickly (and cheaply, lbr)
May I ask what breed your second baby is? I feel weird calling them babies yet not 😂
I am such a cat person but mostly because I know I could never be responsible for a dog.

Yess they will always be our babies! <3 My dog baby is a Great Pyrenees! VERY FLUFFY. VERY LARGE. (150 pounds lolll) I got him into the tub once, but he overpowered me and ran down the stairs. He always behaves for the groomer, tho!

that's the thing with pets as opposed to kids. you don't get any free or low cost health coverage for them. you need to insure them which a lot of people can't afford and rarely even think about getting, because "it's a pet and pets don't get sick" until they do and then you're hit with veterinary bills that can be just as costly as regular medical bills.

Yeah. I love cats and dogs, but I've yet to pull the trigger on one (it would be a cat because I live in an apartment and dogs deserve more space!) because I have the same logic as Anna here - I can barely take care of myself, let alone a cat! I'm usually the first person to volunteer to cat and house sit for friends, though. That way I get cat time in AND I don't have to worry about getting my unit pet-ready/friendly.

I’ve gotten into so many “conversations” about this. Size, breed and where you live def matter. I live in a city and I honestly feel bad for a lot of dogs here. You can take them on all the walks you want but to me they need room to run and what not…
Cat sitting is the best!!! Cats are for sure “easier.” I remember when a friend had the flu and was struggling to take her dog on a walk and I was like “oh shit, I didn’t even think about dealing with that while sick” (I grew up in the suburbs so all we had to do was let our dogs out in the backyard) but cats still need so much attention and care.

I love my cat, but if I had to go back, I would not have adopted her and will not adopt another after she leaves me.
