Yeah I've been seeing excerpts coming out and it's a lotta stuff. Riley's conception was particularly crazy to say the least!
"Priscilla told Lisa Marie she thought about miscarrying her by falling off her horse because she didn't want pregnancy weight as Elvis' wife. She wanted Elvis' undivided attention and Lisa Marie always felt Priscilla didn't want her. Lisa Marie believed in energy in utero and felt Priscilla didn't like her and she didn't have great maternal instincts."
That's sad but not surprising because I didn't read the book but Lisa did mention in her book that whereas Elvis was happy to find out she was pregnant, Lisa wasn't because of the timing. She had something about her finally reaching a breakthrough in her relationship with Elvis that she thought a pregnancy would thwart so she considered having an abortion. Her and Elvis had talked about it but ultimately decided against it they didn't want to live with that.
So I'm not surprised Lisa felt that distance from Priscilla. :(
You know I feel for Priscilla and things she gone through but I'm not surprised to see she was a bit of mess and still is messy to this day 😁😒.
I wish Riley and her sisters all the best!! A lotta healing too!!
ETA: I forgot to mention but "From Here to the Great Unknown" is a great title!! I'm assuming it's maybe a play on "From Here to Eternity" which I've like that title too.
Iirc from Elvis and Me, basically they had finally gotten married after forever and she finally felt like they were a real relationship as he refused to have sex with her till marriage. They were talking about taking a huge European vacation where they’d finally have solo time together since Elvis constantly had an entourage or his family with them at all times as he hated being alone. That was when she found out she was pregnant and felt super conflicted with the timing as she wanted more 1:1 time with just Elvis so…yeah. Also yeah iirc she made it a point with pride in the book she only gained like 4lbs during the pregnancy(?!!) bc Elvis shit talked pregnant women’s bodies and wanted to keep his affection at all costs.
