my mother's cancer was also found during a routine mammogram. feels like so many women are getting diagnosed lately, or maybe people are just more open to talk about it :(
i feel it's a combo of better imaging and openness discussing these things- or maybe just more openness as we get older? when i hit 30 i noticed more and more of my conversations with the women in my life could veer into health territory very quickly.
I think people are talking about it more--which is great. Turns out there were several women in my life as a kid who had lumpectomies, radiation, etc. and never shared until recently. Hell, my own mother had a benign lump in her 50s and didn't tell me until this year.
which is kinda scary cuz i think most insurances in america only cover routine mammograms once you hit age 40. so idk that needs to change to age 35 or something.
sending all my love to your mom. i am glad people are opening up more about cancer, it needs to stop being taboo. i talk openly about mine, the more people get educated the better.

I'll admit that the pop up almost had me for a second.
