ONTD Original: 5 TV couples with insane (bed) chem

Oct 08, 2024 01:32

I got inspired to make this post after watching "Nobody Wants This," and I thought, well, I know one thing that nobody here wants... An ONTD Original featuring Kristen Bell. So, of course, I decided to make one. 🤣 These are some of the couples from the shows I watched that had really hot on-screen chemistry and made me swoon. Don't take it personally if your fave couple isn't here, I most likely didn't watch that show. 🤣

In no particular order:

Joanne and Noah - "Nobody Wants This" (Kristen Bell and Adam Brody)

Two people who come from completely different lifestyles hit it off while everyone around them disapproves. The show is really wholesome, they have amazing chemistry, and it portrays a very normal, healthy relationship. Not to mention, Adam Brody is a dreamboat and very smooth as Noah.

Rotten Tomatoes score: 95% IMDB score:: 8.2/10

Synopsis: An agnostic sex podcaster and a newly single rabbi fall in love; discovering if their relationship survive their wildly different lives and meddling families.

Liza and Charles - "Younger" (Sutton Foster and Peter Hermann)

While this show ended in a terrible way, it did give us one of the best slow burns I've ever watched. The fact that Darren Star didn't plan this from the start at all is probably what made this couple work; it happened organically because the actors had chemistry that the audience noticed. It also gave us an older couple that bonds over books and adult stuff while also having insane chemistry, as well as an office romance. If you watch 5 seasons of this show, you will get a very good romance arc.

Rotten Tomatoes score: 97% IMDB score: 7.8/10

Synopsis: Liza, a 40-year-old single mother, pretends to be younger than she is, in order to find a job in her desired field of work and excel in her career.

Kate and Anthony - "Bridgerton" (Simone Ashley and Jonathan Bailey)

This is such a good enemies-to-lovers arc. I didn't really care about any plot on this show that wasn't about these two (not that there was any, lbr), and I've been dying of anticipation for their first kiss since episode one.

Rotten Tomatoes score: 78% IMDB score: 7.4/10
(Honestly, season 1 and season 3 having higher RT ratings is insane lol)

Synopsis: Duty, desire and scandal collide when Viscount Anthony Bridgerton decides to marry, only to meet his match in his intended bride's headstrong big sister.

Jane and Guildford - "My Lady Jane" (Emily Bader and Edward Bluemel)

This show was not only witty and fun, but it also had a very hot couple with insane chemistry since episode 1. Because God doesn't exist, this show got cancelled, but you can still watch the first season, since it's really worth it, imo.

Rotten Tomatoes score: 95% IMDB score: 7.4/10

Synopsis: Lady Jane Grey and her husband Guildford live during the reign of Edward, son of Henry VIII. She unexpectedly finds herself crowned queen overnight and becomes the target of criminals who want her throne and her head.

Catherine and Peter - "The Great" (Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult)

This is enemies-to-lovers in its truest form. Peter is a despicable human being, but his chemistry with Catherine is off-the-charts, which makes for a very fun and hot watch.

Rotten Tomatoes score: 96% IMDB score: 8.1/10

Synopsis: A young Catherine the Great comes to Russia to get married to Peter III of Russia but finds herself embroiled in a world of dogmatic beliefs and customs, which she tries to alter.

Honorable mentions: Letty and Javier (Good Behavior), Francis and Mary (Reign), Juliette and Avery (Nashville)
