I was confused about this because I thought they'd be wrapping it up with the expansions to prepare for theSims 5 but apparently they just decided the Sims 5 just isn't going to happen at all?

This is so dumb. I think we've all had enough of the Sims 4.

They're still play testing what was supposed to be The Sims 5 (Project Rene) so they might be releasing what they have as a spin off.

The intention is for it to be a mmorpg but also not exactly. Some sort of online sims game you play with people and a store to buy things like ts3 and more $ dlc.

iirc ts4 was supposed to be that game. but it is frustrating to see EA copy modders who have been working for years and do it poorly. so poorly. they are only fixing dine out bugs and they released that in 2016. i don't know if i'd rather them fix all ts4 bugs and let us live on our weird maxis life made better by mods (my sims were happy and then they had a fight about literally nothing. one just started yelling at the other. one was in the bath this morning and his whim was to divorce his husband. autonomously. i was thrilled to see i'd finally got enough mods installed to give them proper autonomy).

if they do a genuine ts5 (not this) they would have to start all over and it'd be another 5-7 years minimum. i know ts2 was my favourite. but if they combined ts2 and ts3 to make ts5? that would truly be amazing.

EA must think enough people are into this. i haven't come across a single one. r/sims4 people are furious. i don't know that i blame them. we all thought we were getting ts5. not ts5 equals halo (multiplayer) + the sims
