When this story first broke, the media went with the story that they were spoiled rich kids and most believed the abuse claims were made up/lies. Almost everyone thought they were soulless monsters who only committed the crime for greed and money.
Over the last 10 years or so, there has been much progress in changing that narrative and seeing it for what it really was - and taking the abuse seriously and understanding the hell they went through.
Of course they were not perfect victims - they said and did plenty of ill-advised things post crime. But it doesn’t change the fact that they underwent horrific sexual abuse.
Of course they would be upset that the salacious details (or taking liberties with facts like Ryan does…) would be exploited by this show given how much they’ve done to be taken more seriously as SA victims.
Ryan’s response is awful here. He’s acting like a petulant child.
Their father was an absolute monster. He repeatedly raped both boys, and he even killed their childhood pet to teach them a “lesson.” And the mother knew these things and didn’t care and let them happen. They were the monsters.
