these kinds of situations always make me sad tbh because I feel like the party with the bad/abusive family often ends up settling fast just to get away from their family =/ someone I know is doing this rn, her fiance came out as an MRA gun nut mid-engagement but he has money and kinda lets her do what she wants vs her birth family is extremely poor and extremely religious so it's like she just accepted this because he's her ticket out of that house.
