Robert Eggers’ NOSFERATU is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.

So far the marketing has refrained from actually showing the Count's appearance in detail, which is cool.

i love eggers films and in general his casting has always been top notch but lilyrose depp being the lead here gives me serious pause, i feel like it's a lot for her limited ability to act. maybe she will surprise us all though!! meanwhile i would watch nicholas hoult unlock a door

Depp was good in The Idol, I thought, even though the show wasn’t. But in general, to me Eggers has earned the benefit of the doubt with casting.

I only watched one episode of that mess and I thought she was terrible.

i think it was likely an agent/executive decision at most and since she fits the white and waiflike look he seems to appreciate he probably didn't think twice about casting her. or maybe she had a great audition where she embodied his vision of the character but you know, let's be realistic lol

The original Nosferatu was a Dracula rip-off with a more inhuman-looking vampire, so this is continuing in that vein.

From the profile shot, I thought Nicholas Hoult was Sam Claflin?? I'm so sorry Nicholas Hoult!!

This trailer isn't thrilling me, but I'm hopeful it'll be good.

How very Bram Stoker’s Dracula (minus the color) that first bit is. I really like Robert Eggers work, but I have to say, this had a few shots that have that certain glossy superhero effects CGI look that took me out. Also, while I think Lily-Rose is a more interesting actor than people give her credit for…I’m not sure her casting in this is working for me. We’ll see. Trailers can be so deceiving, especially for him, where they can sometimes market it as more mainstream than his art house leanings.
