I’m gonna feel very typical ontd hater but this is the one franchise I just don’t get the hype for.

Same. I thought the first one was fine. Saw it in theaters but the second was terrible.

i liked it but ia it's not as memorable as the first. i did love the line "did you think sweatshops are where they make sweatpants?"

I enjoyed the first, even watched it twice, but not in the "omg this needs to be a series" way. The second was already forgettable and too tryhard for me, so two more sounds like a disaster.

I still can’t get over Daniel Craig’s accent or whatever you call that abomination.

The first one was fun, but probably more because it has been ages since we had a good whodunnit. The second one was terrible except for Janelle monae.

When I watched that first trailer I was thinking; Why is he making that noise?

One of my friends actually got irritated with me for saying how much I disliked Glass Onion. Why does everything that should be 90 minutes have to be bloated to 2+ hours?

They're fun, but overhyped. I could not stand people saying how huge the real villain twist was in the first one, it felt incredibly obvious

The first one was fine, but a bit overrated. The second one was terrible

The movies are very simple and dressed in a way that makes mainstream audiences feel smart for enjoying them, while also not being The Rock levels of dumb to the point pretentious audiences would feel ashamed to admit they liked it. I think they hit the jackpot with this franchise, it's that particular type of entertainment that can please both dumb and smart people alike.

I do feel like we've been starved of fun but not completely stupid blockbusters for so long, and for movies with decent parts for women (it's why EEAAO and Barbie hit so hard). 90% of the top films are just existing-IP franchises that require a huge investment on the audience's part to keep up with, and quite frankly there's just too much starring Chris Pratt/Ryan Reynolds/The Rock who are just unfunny charisma vacuums.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I like Daniel Craig's silly little accent and everyone's high camp performances lol.

agreed 100%! I had a lot of fun with these films, especially the first one. I find Daniel's character delightful, he seems to fully embrace the camp and just have fun with it, and I think the cast had good chemistry both times. plus i'm really looking forward to Glenn Close in the third one <3
