Drake Hogestyn, who portrayed John Black on the soap opera Days Of Our Lives, has passed away at 70 due to pancreatic cancer, one day before his 71st birthday.

Oh no!!! I hope he didn’t suffer. His voice is so distinct.

Late 90s/early 00s Days was my life!! I remember during the summers I would catch up with friends at band camp (aka summer practices) over the latest episode. My fam was close to hosting an exchange student and the ambassador who came to our house bonded with us over swamp girl. We had it on in the background and she was like “omg do we know who swamp girl is yet???”

No one did, they kept it very quiet to give him and his family privacy, I suppose.

I saw the title and thought to myself, “Oh I hope it wasn’t that hottie John Black” and then scrolled to see that it is. 😢

I haven’t watched DOOL since like 1999 and didn’t even know this man’s real name, yet I’m weirdly very sad about his passing. Pancreatic cancer is awful. May he rest in peace.

I was *riveted* by the evil Stefano’s dastardly plans to woo and ruin the life of the beautiful Marlena Evens.

Same same about knowing too much. I think I was like 4 when my mom started really getting into Days.

Same, I was WAY too young to watch this show with my mom but I grew up with it and I’m super sad to hear this.

Stefano’s son EJ was so hot.
