ONTD Original: ONTD’s Ultimate Villain (Voting Post)

Sep 28, 2024 21:00

A follow up to this post, we’ve reached the second stage of this very shitty undertaking, earlier than I originally intended. The poops have stalled, and I had some free time. In total, there were 67 nominations and over 2,860 poop 💩 reactions. Some dishonorable mentions were notably absent from the nominations that excluded monsters Kevin Spacey, Armie Hammer, Caitlyn Jenner, Dr. Luke, Jeffrey Epstein, Bill Cosby, and Harvey Weinstein! Smh I expected more from you, ONTD. Perhaps a sequel? For now, we are trimming down these diabolical scums from twenty to arrive at our top three. Welcome to the voting post! I have written a profile for each of our vile finalists to help you cast your vote. I have to admit, researching through the horrific atrocities of these poor excuse of humans took me on a dark and heavy path, and had me feeling down all day-a caution to readers.

I’ve amended the timeline of how we’ll run this to accommodate my own personal schedule, and depending on how the votes fizzle out. All other stipulations remain the same. If you need a refresher, here are the rules:

THE RULES

There will be three parts to this sadistic pageantry. The nomination post, the voting post, and the results post. The results will be based on ranking. The nominations start today, polling will begin on October 8th, and the official results will be posted on October 15th. Participants made nominations on September 24th, we are casting votes today, and the official results will be posted once the votes trickle down to inconsequential numbers that would not affect the ranking, or when I find the energy to make the post, whichever comes first.

Nominate a celebrity in the comments. Only one celebrity (alive or deceased) per participant will be accepted so dig deep down and make that hatred count. If you accidentally nominate two (because you’re an ONTD statistic and you don’t read), only your first nominee will count. Individual and group nominees (ex. the Proud Boys, the Westboro Baptist Church) will be accepted. I will stop taking nominations on October 5th, midnight, Eastern standard time.

Notable personalities only. Try not to use ‘celebrity’ loosely so no Hawk tuah girl or Beebetter boy nominations please. You may or may not include your reasons in your comment but it would certainly help your case if you did. There are some truly horrible people in this world but irrational hate is okay too-you are seen and you are valid.

React with a poop emoji in the comments to upvote a nominee. If there are duplicate entries of the same celeb, I will count in the reacts but PLEASE check other people’s nominees before commenting to make tallying tolerable for me. Only poop emojis will be counted! The top 20 poopiest celebrities will advance to the final polling stage.

The culminating poll will be single-choice meaning participants may vote for only ONE of the final nominees. The top 3 and runner-ups will be officially announced on October 15th when it will be announced then we all shall find out who ONTD collectively think is The Ultimate Villain™! Muahahaha! Light up your torches and let the hatefest commence!

KANYE WEST, 47
West is an American rapper, record producer, and fashion designer. One of the most prominent figures in hip hop, he is known for his varying musical style and polarizing cultural and political commentary.

Kanye has made numerous provocative remarks, including comments about slavery that many found offensive, “When you hear about slavery for 400 years, for 400 years? That sounds like a choice.” His statements often spark outrage and debate. His public behavior, including unexpected outbursts and interruptions (like the infamous interruption of Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV VMAs), has led some to view him as erratic or unpredictable. Kanye's vocal support for controversial figures, including former President Donald Trump, has alienated many fans and critics who disagree with his political stance. In December 2022, Kanye West appeared on Alex Jones's show, where he made several controversial remarks. During the interview, he expressed admiration for Adolf Hitler and made anti-Semitic comments, which sparked widespread condemnation. This appearance further fueled concerns about his mental health and the impact of his rhetoric.

DEBRA MESSING, 56
Messing is an Emmy Award-winning actress famous primarily for her role as Grace Adler on the hit television series "Will & Grace.”

Messing spoke at a rally in Washington, D.C. in support of the release of hostages kidnapped by Hamas. She received criticism for not acknowledging the Palestinians killed in the conflict and for her political views. She is often criticized for sharing inflammatory messages and misinformation on her social media. Messing has come under fire after ludicrously posting a photo of dead Palestinian babies, while accusing them of being fake, alleging red lipstick were drawn on them to look like blood. Messing also faced a backlash for her perceived ridiculing of a famed Palestinian photojournalist, Motaz Azaiza, who fled Gaza, where the Israel occupation forces are accused of deliberately killing over 100 journalists. Messing has been criticized for her perceived bias and insensitivity in the context of the broader conflict and minimizing the suffering of genocide victims.

R. KELLY, 57
Kelly is famous as a singer, songwriter, and record producer, particularly known for his contributions to R&B and soul music. He gained prominence in the 1990s with hits like "I Believe I Can Fly," "Bump N' Grind," and "Ignition (Remix).”

Kelly's fame has been overshadowed by serious legal issues and allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse. There have been accounts that go back to the start of his career in the 1990s, many centering on his alleged predatory pursuit of teenage girls. In 1994, Kelly, then aged 27, wed 15-year-old singer Aaliyah at a secret ceremony in Chicago. Sex tapes were leaked back in the early 2000s where he was seen having sexual intercourse with teens, even urinating on one of them. He is charged with 21 counts of making child sexual abuse videos involving various sexual acts. Chicago police accused him of taping the acts and enticing a minor to participate in them. A Buzzfeed report accused Kelly of trapping six women in a sex cult. The article alleged that Kelly seduced young women when they approached him for help with their music careers, before taking control of their lives-dictating "what they eat, how they dress, when they bathe, when they sleep, and how they engage in sexual encounters that he records." Kelly also confiscated the women's mobile phones, barring contact with friends and family. In 2019, he was indicted on multiple charges, including racketeering and violations of the Mann Act, and was later convicted in a federal trial in 2021.

RONALD REAGAN, 93 (deceased)
Reagan was an American politician who served as the 40th president of the United States from 1981 to 1989. A member of the Republican Party, his presidency constituted the Reagan era, and he is considered one of the most prominent American conservative figures.

Reagan's economic policies, often referred to as "Reaganomics," emphasized tax cuts, deregulation, and reduced government spending. Critics argue these policies disproportionately benefited the wealthy and increased income inequality. His administration is criticized for its handling of social issues, particularly regarding the AIDS epidemic. Many felt that the government's invidious lack of compassion and slow response to the crisis inflamed a stigma against LGBTQ+ people that exists until today. Reagan's foreign policy decisions, including support for authoritarian regimes in Latin America and his stance during the Cold War, have been controversial. Critics argue that these actions led to human rights abuses. Some view Reagan's rhetoric as divisive, particularly regarding his portrayal of welfare recipients and the portrayal of certain groups in society. His administration's approach to environmental regulations is criticized for favoring business interests over environmental protection. He was said to have supported the Apartheid in South Africa and was responsible for supplying weapons to Iraq and Iran during their war. Reagan was also believed to be responsible for modern-day American slavery through penal labor by privatizing the prison system, leading to higher conviction rates that lined the pockets of some corrupt corporations.

BRAD PITT, 60
Pitt is an American actor who is famous for his many roles in a variety of films and his work as a producer. Pitt is known for his portrayal of unconventional characters in films such as “Thelma & Louise,” “12 Monkeys,” “Fight Club,” and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”

Once a beloved movie star, Pitt has had a public string of relationships that include at least two then-underage girls, Christina Applegate and Juliette Lewis. More recently, Pitt has been embroiled in controversy surrounding his unsettled divorce and relationship with actress Angelina Jolie, including allegations of domestic abuse. In 2016, during their divorce proceedings, there were reports of an incident on a private plane where Pitt was alleged to have been verbally and physically aggressive to Jolie and their children. This led to an investigation by the FBI and Child Protective Services. Details of his abuse was eventually released to the public, "Pitt lunged at his own child and Jolie grabbed him from behind to stop him. To get Jolie off his back, Pitt threw himself backwards into the airplane's seats injuring Jolie's back and elbow," the filing says. "The children rushed in and all bravely tried to protect each other. Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face." Pitt is said to be dragging out the separation with a punitive disposition and there have been recorded instances of his children bitterly speaking out against him.

CHRIS BROWN, 35
Brown is famous primarily for his career as a singer and dancer. He gained widespread recognition in the mid-2000s with hits like "Run It!" and "Kiss Kiss.”

Brown has faced many legal issues, most notably a highly publicized incident of domestic violence involving global superstar then-singer Rihanna in 2009, which significantly impacted his public image. Since then, several other women have come forward with allegations that Brown physically assaulted them, made threats, and exhibited controlling and coercive behavior in their relationships with him. In August 2023, Chris Brown faced renewed public backlash and calls for boycotts due to allegations of abusive and violent behavior towards his ex-girlfriend and other women. He is most recently accused by TikTok content creator, Hana Katana, of raping a friend who was 16 at the time, and was under the influence. Katana says they were forced to sign an NDA to make it seem like this alleged act of sexual assault was consensual.

J. K. ROWLING, 59
Rowling is a British author famous for writing “Harry Potter,” a seven-volume fantasy novel series published from 1997 to 2007. The series has sold over 600 million copies, and spawned a global media franchise including films, video games, amusement parks, and endless merchandise.

People's negative feelings toward J. K. Rowling largely stem from her comments and actions related to transgender issues. Many believe that her statements, particularly on social media, are transphobic or dismissive of transgender identities. Additionally, some fans feel betrayed by her evolving views, which they believe contradict the values of acceptance and inclusivity presented in her books. Rowling's responses to proposed changes to Scottish gender recognition laws and her views on sex and gender have provoked controversy. Her stated views are that there should be a right for safe spaces to exist for biological women only, including women's shelters and prisons. Rowling has spewed out many TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist) ideologies and sentiments once tweeting, "War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength. The Penised Individual Who Raped You Is a Woman." These views have sparked significant backlash from LGBTQ+ advocates, fans, and even some actors from the "Harry Potter" film series, including Daniel Radcliffe who said, "Transgender women are women. Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo or I."

WOODY ALLEN, 88
Allen is an American filmmaker whose career has spanned over six decades. Allen has won four Academy Awards, ten BAFTA awards, and two Golden Globe Awards.

Woody Allen faces significant criticism and backlash primarily due to allegations of sexual abuse made by his adoptive daughter, Dylan Farrow. The allegations, which surfaced in the early 1990s, have been a focal point of public scrutiny and have led to a divided perception of him as both a filmmaker and individual. Additionally, his personal relationships, particularly with his former partner Mia Farrow and their adopted children, have also drawn criticism. Many people feel that his actions and the dynamics of his family relationships raise ethical concerns. He became the stepfather to a then-seven-year-old child, Soon-Yi, whom he is accused of grooming, and eventually marrying her. Allen subsequently lost four exhaustive court battles-a lawsuit, a disciplinary charge against the prosecutor, and two appeals. He was made to pay more than $1 million in Mia’s legal fees.

DONALD J. TRUMP, 78
Trump is an American politician, media personality, and businessman who tragically served as the 45th president of the United States from 2017 to 2021.

Many disagree with Trump’s controversial policies on immigration, healthcare, and climate change, viewing them as harmful or regressive. Trump's rhetoric and communication style, often characterized by insults and inflammatory statements, have drawn criticism for being divisive and unpresidential. As a billionaire, Trump is often seen as out of touch with the struggles of average Americans, leading to resentment about his background and lifestyle. Now a convicted felon, the former twice-impeached disgrace continues to face ongoing legal challenges and investigations that test his affinity with falsehoods and fabrications. His perspective to issues such as social justice movements, gender equality, and racial tensions have polarized an entire nation with many feeling he has exacerbated divisions. He is well-known to villainize immigrants and people of color to rile up his conservative base and inflame tensions. Critics argue that his administration rolled back important protections for women and their reproductive health. Multiple women have come forward to accuse Trump of predatory sexual behavior. Behind the scenes of a television appearance, he was recorded on a hot mic saying, "I don't even wait. And when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything! Grab 'em by the pussy. You can do anything." Trump has also been quoted saying, "You've got to deny, deny, deny and push back on these women. If you admit to anything and any culpability, then you're dead. You've got to be strong. You've got to be aggressive. You've got to push back hard. You've got to deny anything that's said about you. Never admit." Trump has also weakened environmental protections, contributing to climate change and ecological degradation once tweeting, “It's really cold outside, they are calling it a major freeze, weeks ahead of normal. Man, we could use a big fat dose of global warming!" He is widely believed to have acted in missteps upon missteps during the global COVID-19 pandemic resulting in a lot of confusion, conspiracy theories, and hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths across the country.

SEAN “DIDDY” COMBS, 54
Combs is an American rapper and record producer. A three-time Grammy Award winner, he is credited with the discovery and development of musical artists including the Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, and Usher.

Comb’s violent temper, his sexual proclivities and his mistreatment of women, are surfacing across the internet with many commenting that he is finally being held accountable for behavior everyone seems to have known about for years. Ex-partner Cassie filed a lawsuit in which she alleges that Combs controlled nearly every aspect of her life, from her career to her personal medical records. She claims he was frequently violent, physically abusing her multiple times a year, and that he often plied her with copious amounts of drugs. The complaint also claims that Combs forced Cassie to have sex with male sex workers in different cities while he watched, masturbated, and recorded. A graphic security footage surfaced showing Combs assaulting Cassie in a hotel back in 2016. Comb's infamous drug-fueled freak offs that occurred regularly, and sometimes lasted multiple days have become the central narrative of the indictment which alleges he "manipulated women to participate in highly orchestrated performances of sexual activity with male commercial sex workers." Combs "distributed a variety of controlled substances to victims, in part to keep the victims obedient and compliant." He "hit, kicked, threw objects at, and dragged victims, at times, by their hair," during and separate from the freak offs, which "often resulted in injuries that took days or weeks to heal." He also “used the sensitive, embarrassing, and incriminating recordings he made as collateral to ensure the continued obedience and silence of the victims,” the indictment states. In September 2024, he was arrested on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking by force, and transportation for purposes of prostitution.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, 43
Timberlake is an American singer and actor. Timberlake first became famous as a child star on “The All New Mickey Mouse Club” alongside Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. In 1995, he became a teen heartthrob with the boy band NSYNC. After the group's successful run, Timberlake went solo in 2002.

Timberlake is disliked by many for how he handled controversial moments in his career. Many people point to his past actions, such as the fallout from the Super Bowl halftime show in 2004 with Janet Jackson, where he was perceived to have not adequately supported her after the incident they were both in. Timberlake has faced accusations of culturally appropriating elements of Black culture in his music and performances, which many find problematic. "Oh yeah, fo' shiz fo' shiz, Ginuwine, what's up homie?" he was recalled saying. His personal relationships, particularly his marriage to actress Jessica Biel and his past relationship with global superstar Britney Spears have been scrutinized, leading many to question his character following reports of infidelity and cheating allegations. More recently, the pop star was arrested in the Hamptons, New York and charged with driving while intoxicated. He has pleaded guilty to a non-criminal traffic violation of driving while impaired in connection with his arrest.

Splash News

JOHNNY DEPP, 61
Depp is an American actor and try-hard musician who is famous for his film and television work, including “21 Jump Street,” “Edward Scissorhands,” and the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series.

Depp has had reputed issues with alcohol and drug use over the years, which some felt enabled unprofessional behavior on film sets and public events. A Rolling Stone interview depicted him as a drug-addled trainwreck who is difficult to work with. Depp has been involved in high-profile legal battles, particularly with his ex-wife Amber Heard, including claims that he was physically and verbally abusive. In leaked text messages, Depp fantasized about murdering his then-wife, “I will fuck her burnt corpse afterwards to make sure she’s dead.” He referred to Amber’s body in disgustingly misogynistic terms, “mushy pointless dangling overused floppy fish market”. The details of the allegations were absolutely horrific, including Depp forcing a bottle on Amber’s genitalia, ordering his doctors to give Amber a cocktail of sedatives to calm her down upon “nagging” him to stop his drug and alcohol abuse-done without Amber's knowledge or consent. Many people believe the accusations, while others still support Depp to this day, no thanks to an allegedly elaborate and effective smear campaign that Depp and his PR team spearheaded against Amber, to force a narrative that they were equally both abusive in the court of public opinion.

DRAKE, 37
Drake, real name Aubrey Graham, is a Canadian rapper, singer, and actor who is famous for his music career and his role on the TV show “Degrassi: The Next Generation.”

Drake has a history of weird behavior towards underage women, including making sexual comments to a fan even after finding out she was a teenager. Some accuse him of appropriating elements of Black culture without fully acknowledging or respecting their origins, particularly his use of Caribbean slang. He’s been accused of using ghost writers for his songs and is perceived as generally inauthentic. Drake is said to have curated an image of himself being a hard but sensitive and emotional artist, which many find corny and overly dramatic. Most recently, a controversial feud with rapper Kendrick Lamar has left the public wanting Drake even less, catapulting a diss song dedicated to him, “Not Like Us,” to reach #1 on the charts. In the song, Lamar inflamed rumors and renewed interest in Drake’s predatory behavior, singing a line that will haunt him for the rest of his life, "Tryna strike a chord and it's probably A-Minorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr." Ouch! Poor dat.

MEN
The weaker gender.

Most men benefit from societal gender roles and are proponents of toxic masculinity in all parts of the world. They continue to enjoy the privileges of the patriarchy that they have established since the dawn of humanity. Some men adhere to harmful stereotypes that promote aggression, dominance, and emotional suppression, which can lead to negative behaviors. High-profile cases of violence against women, often perpetuated by men, contribute to negative perceptions. Many women and marginalized groups experience inequality in pay, discrimination, harassment, or dismissal in various settings, often at the hands of men in positions of power. Cultural norms sometimes encourage negative behaviors in men, leading to issues like bullying, sexism, or entitlement. Many countries around the world continue to oppress women and their rights. For example, Afghanistan ranks among the highest for gender-based violence where, along with neighboring Pakistan, honor killings are widely prevalent although illegal-35 out of every 100 women are exposed to violence at the hands of their male partner.

Austin Police Department

SHIA LABEOUF, 38
Shia LaBeouf is an actor who became famous in the early 2000s for his roles in film and television, including “Even Stevens” and “Transformers”.

LaBeouf has been involved in various incidents of erratic behavior, including public outbursts, altercations, and arrests. He notably went on a racist rant while being arrested for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct in 2017. In a released video, LaBeouf said to the officers arresting him, "You're going to hell, straight to hell bro. You especially, Devin." When asked why he specifically singled out Devin, LaBeouf replied, "Cause he's a Black man." He has faced allegations of abusive behavior and sexual misconduct from former partners, including musician FKA twigs who sued him for “relentless abuse, sexual battery, assault and infliction of emotional distress.” In an interview with Elle, Twigs revealed how LaBeouf would shamelessly brag about shooting stray dogs. He said it helped him "get into character" as a henchman for his role in 2020's The Tax Collector. Twigs also disclosed how he strangled her, knowingly infected her with a sexually transmitted disease, and threatened to crash a car they were both in. His attempts to address his past behavior and mental health struggles have been met with mixed reactions, leading some to question his sincerity and problematic redemption tours.

Steve Granitz/FilmMagic

MEL GIBSON, 68
Gibson is famous for his work as an actor, director, and producer, known for his roles in the “Mad Max” and “Lethal Weapon” film series, “Braveheart”, and “The Passion of the Christ.”

Gibson faced backlash for making anti-Semitic comments during a DUI arrest in 2006, which sparked widespread condemnation and accusations of anti-Semitism. An L.A. County Sheriff’s deputy pulls Gibson over on the Pacific Coast Highway. After informing Gibson, who is drunk, that he will be detained, the actor says, “Fucking Jews. The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world,” before asking the deputy, “Are you a Jew?” The deputy is. In a Slate Magazine interview, actress Winona Ryder has described homophobic and anti-Semitic comments made by Mel Gibson. “We were at a crowded party with one of my good friends and Mel Gibson was smoking a cigar, and we’re all talking, and he said to my friend, who’s gay, ‘Oh wait, am I gonna get AIDS?’ And then something came up about Jews, and he said, ‘You’re not an oven dodger, are you?’” Gibson has been recorded making racist and misogynistic remarks, particularly in a 2010 phone call with his former partner, Oksana Grigorieva, who accused him of domestic violence, which further fueled public outrage. He was accused of striking Oksana in the face during an argument, insisting his slap was only intended to “bring her back to reality.” Six tapes, which Grigorieva denies releasing, were leaked to the public. They include the actor using the N-word and other derogatory phrases, as well as angry rants against his ex for everything, from her “tight clothes” to her “fake boobs.” He responded to Oksana bringing up an incident where he allegedly hit her and broke her teeth as she was holding her daughter in her hands, “You know what, you fucking deserved it. I'm threatening you? I'll put you in a fucking rose garden, you cunt. You understand that? Because I'm capable of it. You understand that?”

AMY SCHUMER, 43
Schumer is an American stand-up comedian, actress, and writer. Schumer ventured into comedy in the early 2000s before appearing as a contestant on the fifth season of the NBC reality competition series “Last Comic Standing”.

Some people find Schumer’s comedy, which often tackles sensitive topics like gender and sexuality, to be offensive or unfunny. Schumer has faced allegations of stealing jokes from other comedians. While she has denied these claims, they have tarnished her reputation for some fans. Many perceive her as insufferable and annoying although it’s important to note that some misogyny against her may take play in this. One of her more known jokes is about how supposedly disgusting periods and tampons are. Schumer has also been criticized for nonchalantly describing how she performed sexual acts to a person who could not consent. She repeatedly tells a story of her having sex with a guy who was so intoxicated and impaired he kept falling asleep, "His penis was so soft, it felt like one of those de-stress things that slips from your hand.”

ROMAN POLANSKI, 91
Roman Polanski is a famous film director, producer, and screenwriter known for his dark and disquieting films, including “Rosemary's Baby,” “Chinatown,” and “The Pianist.”

People have strong negative feelings towards Roman Polanski because of his sexual assault conviction. Polanski fled the United States in 1978 after pleading guilty to unlawful sex with a minor, he was charged with drugging and raping a 13-year-old girl. His evasion of justice has led many to view him as a fugitive from the law. His continued legal battles and attempts to return to the U.S. have kept the story alive in public discourse. Polanski has also made comments that some perceive as minimizing the severity of his actions or expressing a lack of remorse, which has fueled public outrage. In 1979, Polanski gave a controversial interview with novelist Martin Amis in which, discussing the case, he said "If I had killed somebody, it wouldn't have had so much appeal to the press, you see? But fucking, you see, and the young girls. Judges want to fuck young girls. Juries want to fuck young girls. Everyone wants to fuck young girls!" His case is often discussed in the broader context of Hollywood's historical tolerance for predatory behavior, leading to anger towards the industry as a whole for not holding him accountable.

Twitter

ELON MUSK, 53
Musk is famous for currently being the richest person in the world with an approximate net worth of $222 billion as of early August. He is also known for his work in the fields of technology, space, and transportation, and for his role in the social media company formerly known as Twitter.

Critics have raised concerns about the labor conditions at his companies, Tesla and SpaceX, including allegations of poor working environments and anti-union practices. As one of the richest individuals in the world, Musk often faces criticism related to wealth inequality and the responsibilities of billionaires. Musk has a relatively unpleasant public persona with a brash and often unfiltered personality that alienate some, who see him as megalomaniac, arrogant or out of touch. His tweets and public statements have been known to cause significant fluctuations in stock prices and cryptocurrency markets, raising concerns about market manipulation. In July 2024, Musk said he was committing around $45 million a month to a pro-Trump political action committee, raising concerns he is furthering his reputed ambition to overreach his power and manipulate government policies as well.
