September 28, 2024 Katy Perry's Australian fans were left upset after the disgraced pop star didn't perform one of her most recognized songs at the AFL Grand Final on Saturday. Fans were upset by her decision to not perform her 2008 hit "Hot N Cold," which was famously the theme song for MasterChef Australia. Viewers apparently went to social media to slam Perry for leaving out the song from her setlist, jokingly describing it as Australia's true "national anthem."
Perry, 39, performed eight songs, including "Roar," "Firework," "California Gurls," and two tracks from her new album, "Lifetimes" and "Gorgeous." This, despite reports that she was restricted to just one new song by AFL bosses.
Fans were also left confused by the CGI that was included in her performance.
