I dropped S1 originally after ep2 - I did watch and love ep3 when I heard the raves - THAT was an amazing episode of tv.

That was the only ep I liked (that and the very start); granted I only watched about 5 episodes in total, but it just didn’t grab me. And in hindsight, it felt a bit weird to take time away from the main plot so early into the show, even if it was a great detour.

Before the show (yrs before) I saw game playthroughs and enjoyed them very much so I thought I'd dig the show.

And the producer/showrunner? of Chernobyl was involved so I was IN.

Then it just fizzled immediately - to me - I can't explain why.

So I hear you! And can see that re diversion but I've since heard ppl regard that as the highlight - even if they liked the whole show.🤷‍♀️

Yeah, it fizzled for me right away…I don’t think I bought into world-building or the relationships. It left me a bit cold.

Same! I only hung onto watching ep2 to see scenes from my hometown tbh. 🤣

I helped my Brother with his playing of both of these games (by reading a walkthrough out loud). And despite not liking the horror part of them I really liked the first one. The second, not so much.
I was looking forward to the TV show, especially with everyone here who saw it hyping it up. But it was underwhelming.
