Why did I think this came out a while ago? I know Jesse has ties to Poland but between this and that Lena Dunham movie, I’m wondering why the interest in Poland. My cousins are trying to convince me to move there to teach English since I’m unemployed and apparently they’re desperate for teachers? Any Polish members that can confirm? Ok, stream of consciousness is done!

I guess they're always looking for preschool teachers, so working with kids is your safest bet. But you might need to be a pedagogue or a psychologist.

But please google salaries in Poland, average prices, and inflation level.

I moved out of the country a couple of years ago, and there's a reason why I still live abroad.

I assumed as much. I am hesitant to move there because they’re also dealing with their own far right movements 🙃 But having family I can live with til I have enough money to find my own place is tempting.

What made you leave in particular??

I moved from Poland to Denmark, so pretty much everything you can think of. Economic factors, work/life balance, politics and gov't policies, progressive attitude.

Highly recommend Nordics, although finding a job here ain't easy!

A friend recently moved to Sweden and she is loving life but yup, her husband was able to find a job before they moved but she is having issues.

There’s probably a lot of us Americans stealing jobs 😂 😬

I would looooove to live in Amsterdam but I’ve only been as a tourist so I may have rose colored glasses.

I actually wanted to move to Sweden, but they didn't event invite me for interviews :D I got my job in Copenhagen through Skype, so that's a bit of a difference right here hahaha.

My friend lives in Amsterdam and hates it over there. No work life balance within our field (supply planning).

Ughghgh I do love Copenhagen. I would not mind living there either.

I’m sorry about your friend’s situation. That sucks, simply put.

I hope you get to move to Sweden if you still want to!

I feel the same way, I thought this came out last year.

I would move to Poland for the food if someone paid me. For a year. We had pieroges for dinner last night, yummy.

Yeah, it would be fun to live there for a year just to learn how to cook all the fantastic Polish food. What are calories? lol

I mean, Poland is where Auschwitz was, so when you have movies about the Holocaust, a lot of times Poland is going to be involved. But yeah, 2 Jewish family dramedies about the Holocaust/Poland in one year is a little crazy!

I totally get that but that wasn’t my point - just weird that two Hollywood movies decide to have their characters travel to Poland.
