I can't believe how poorly this Joker sequel is going for everybody involved. She's about to lock into flop maintenance mode.

She has already got her back-up album ready to go, though.

I think she might be aware? Hard to tell with her, honestly. 😆

I really thought this was going to be a huge movie... but then the reviews arrived. Now I suppose she's contractually obligated to do however many videos & promo for the film. I am very curious about how her next album will sound. I feel like she's already done so many genres.

Well... they "alienated" the incel fandom and straight white dudes, just by adding her AND making it into a musical.

They have also alienated musical haters, like me, but it is Gaga, so I will definitely watch it. Just for free. 💅

I’ve seen almost zero controversy over Lady Gaga being in the film and very little negative discourse over it being a musical, not even from the people who made a stink over Brie Larson. The “incel fandom” narrative was something pushed by the media by tying it to the Aurora shooting (which had nothing to do with the Joker) as a way to get clicks by making it sound like the film was dangerous.

Okay. And?

You're more chronically online than me.

Got it.

You don’t have to be “chronically online” to see what kind of discourse is actually going on. This being a musical w/Lady Gaga was announced two years ago and there has been no fan uproar or backlash. More people were upset over the Penguin being called Oz Cobb.

Yes, yes you do!

I'm a Lady Gaga stan and ain't checking for this shit.

And I average 5 hours of screen time a day (says my phone).

But I also do not use social media besides here and Reddit.

So many of you are obsessed with Twitter and TikTok. It is wild.

I just don't have the time nor do I care anymore.

No, no you don’t. I haven’t been watching or paying attention to “The Acolyte” or “Obi-Wan Kenobi” at *all* for example but I’ve still heard about the backlash and fan harassment going on because word spreads and the media picks up on it.

I haven't heard of any of that.

You're chronically online, sorry. "Media?" Where do you get it from? I just told you, I visit 2 sites that could be considered social "media" but... nope.

You can keep coming back and being in denial but I really do not care.

I have to work in the morning. I literally do not have time for this.

Find a job.

Good-fucking-night! (I don't recall you being this exhausting to deal with, but here we are.)

Yes, media. Like Variety, USA Today and Deadline.

You said something that was incorrect and when I pointed out that it wasn’t happening you immediately jumped on the defensive and all of a sudden it’s a stink about “being chronically online” when we’re on ONTD.

I still don't visit any of those sites, though.

Regardless, I was an asshole last night. Sorry for that.

I used to be better at leaving my work, at work. But lately, I'm just stewing in misery.

Not at all an excuse. But, I am sorry for being aggressive like that.

You're good.

We have both been here long enough that sometimes we get over "sassy" and bitchy.

At least we can apologise to each other.

People are saying it's gonna flop but the first one made like a billion dollars and won oscars, so how?
But then again same thing happened with Captain Marvel, which was success then the sequel flopped. But one was a woman incels love to hate, the other is an incel, incels love to love, so yeah I'm sure it will make good money.
