According to OP.
Yea yea, death is a part of life, etc. But this is tv/film/books, not real life. Written by writers who made bad decisions to kill off some characters for no reason at all except shock value, misogyny, and/or laziness.
That's why, in my opinion, none of these deaths actually happened in canon. All of the following characters are still alive in their respective universes and living their absolute best lives.
1. Juliet Burke - LOST
Honestly, probably one of the show's most tragic characters. From being trapped on the island by Benry, separated from her sister, all she wanted was to get off the island and go home. She found real love with Sawyer, and had a life in the 1970s (imagine them as cool hippies??), before, as they do, Jack and Kate fucked it up. But! Good thing that they were able to scape on the sub together back to the "real world" and Juliet got to see her sister, meet her nephew, and live happily ever after with James.
(Actual image of them together after they got off the sub 😁)
2. Tara Knowles - Sons Of Anarchy
Fuck Jax, she should have ditched him and taken her boys away from Charming. In fact, she did. She took that job offer up in Oregon, and left him to die bloody because she knew he was lying, again, about leaving the club. Also, fuck Gemma Teller.
3. James Norrington - POTC trilogy
After Beckett was defeated at the end of the real trilogy, Port Royal needed to be cleaned up. What better candidate than the former Commodore himself? So glad he followed Elizabeth off the Flying Dutchman and helped the pirates win the war!
4. Laurel Lance - Arrow
Literally pointless. Because this was likely only in response to a certain loud faction of the fandom, I don't consider it canon. Laurel, aka the true Black Canary, is actually still in Starling City in all the universes, catching bad guys with Sara, and being besties with Nyssa.
5. Sun and Jin Kwon - LOST
They also finally got off the island together and went back to their daughter and Sun's badass company. We all know this.
6. Rita Bennett - Dexter
She took the kids and left Dexter once she discovered he was a serial killer. So happy for her!
7. Debra Morgan - Dexter
She arrested Dexter after discovering he's a fucking serial killer. She's now a fucking special agent of the FBI tracking down killers.
8. Andrea Cantillo - Breaking Bad
Jesse left a shit ton of money for her and Brock and they're now free of drugs and Nazis and Walt, and they're thriving.
9. Rachel Berenson - "Animorphs" series
I'm on the fence with this one tbh, since Rachel was the sort of character who would never be happy unless she was in battle. But she also wants a "normal" life, so after defeating the Yeerks, she settled down and used her morphing abilities to help rebuild Earth, fight corrupt Earth governments and punch Nazis.
10. Wes Gibbons - How To Get Away With Murder
I'll be honest, I wasn't THAT invested in his character, but his relationship with Annalise was one of the show's most compelling (and the basis of the whole show). He ended up graduating college and still goes to Annalise for life and law advice.
11. Gus Fring - Breaking Bad
He survived the bomb, but he's spending the rest of his life in a prison hospital. Thinks uncle Jack and the other Nazis are amateurs. Obviously he then decided to go after baby Yoda to fill the void.
12. Bob Newby - Stranger Things
It says it right there in his nickname, "Bob Newby, Superhero" (plus, it's Sean Astin). He saves them all from the Upside Down and settles down to a quiet and happy life with Joyce in Hawkins.
13. Abbie Mills - Sleepy Hollow
Why the hell would a show kill off their fucking protagonist? One word: racism. Joke's on them, Abbie actually got out of Tarrytown, took her daughters, and moved to a small town across the country where there are no witchcraft or curses or white network executives.
14. Bonus character who is absolutely dead:
Logan Roy - Succession
Because fuck him. Also why can't his real life counterpart share his fate???
what fictional deaths do you ignore ONTD?
