I feel like I spawned this after my rant about how I hated him as an actor because I hated his Old Guard character so much (yes it's possible to love a movie and hate a character not because they're evil but because they fucking whine the entire movie god shut up nobody cares) until I saw A Bigger Splash, so I am ok with this news, good for him.

would really recommend Bullhead, Rust and Bone, and Far from the Madding Crowd - those are my fave roles of his.

Bullhead is a tough watch
Rust and Bone and FFTMC are two of his best films.

Rust and Bone was the first film of Matthias' that I saw and I was like beside myself afterwards at how good he was.
