Cute. Another surrogacy announcement.

is it a surrogate? I read but very quickly so maybe I missed it. she does not look like she just had a baby so that was my first thought before I saw this comment. plus she had cancer recently so I'd be surprised if she would risk a pregnancy.

She had a hysterectomy.

the fact that everyone is answering with "she had a hysterectomy" instead of just answering my original question "yes she used a surrogate" makes me wonder if everyone is being defensive and trying to justify the use of a surrogate.

neither the surrogacy or hysterectomy info was in the original post.

I didn’t know the answer to the surrogate question but I knew she had a hysterectomy and therefore did not give birth. You said “risk a pregnancy” and I was simply letting you know she couldn’t have done that.

I read an article a few weeks ago where she said she had a radical hysterectomy and two mastectomies (iirc)?

I also remember their kid asking Mukaney "where does Mommy work" and he pointed to the bed, and that answer made Munn feel guilty. Mulaney seems as great as ever/s

Considering the surgery and aggressive treatment she needed, I don’t blame her for not carrying another child.

okay but then one kid would have been fine!

We don’t know their circumstances. For all we know, a family member volunteered to be a surrogate. I know ontd likes to act like all surrogacy is bad and women are being used, but women also have free will and it’s not always the bad thing people make out it is.

for all we know lmao, yes sure in this circumstance of course it’s altruistic and not at all apart of the surrogacy industry

We just don’t know. That’s my point. People always assume it’s down to a desperate woman, who has no choice. We have no idea if that’s true or not.

She had cancer and IIRC has the BRCA gene? So unfortunately the only solution for that is to have a hysterectomy

She actually tested BRCA negative! So even scarier for her since she thought she was in the clear.

her post said she used a gestational carrier:

"I had so many profound emotions about not being able to carry my daughter," said Olivia, who previously underwent a hysterectomy after being diagnosed with cancer last year. "When I first met our gestational surrogate we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much grace and understanding, I knew I had found a real-life angel."

A gestational carrier sounds so dehumanizing tbh.
