Yes, a bit more naturalistic beauty practices all around wouldn’t hurt but I also get the insane pressure of female celebs having to look High-Definition-Image-ready 24/7, too. And the industry relies & banks on women having that level of hyperawareness and insecurities around their looks, too.
Veneers are one of the few enhancements that hit all celebs, not just women. A ton of male celebs have that blinding wall of teeth as well. It's often the first thing they do when they get a bit of money. I imagine it's a combo of dental health being ridiculously expensive in the US and vanity. They don't need to be SO big and SO white!
I agree and veneers specifically have been something that have crossed over into youth culture where a ton of young people are feeling pressured to get elective surgeries like veneers and other procedures so much to the point where they’re going out of the country to save money on the expense. My orig. comment wasn’t meant to come off as contrarian only that I understand why it’s so prevalent. Also, my fellow Americans truly are obsessed with perfect teeth and have no shame of making fun of people or outright saying it’s a turnoff in prospective romantic partners for having imperfections in that area.
I miss when celebrities had normal teeth. So many veneers aren't right for the person's mouth.
