I'm surprised the same three shows didn't sweep everything like they did last year. Shōgun, The Bear, and Baby Reindeer obviously won a lot of awards, but I'm glad other shows got some shine too (especially Ripley and Slow Horses).

Someone in the Watch Post posted a clip of Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach being asked about The Bear as a comedy, and I don't think either of them came off well with their responses. Ebon's "who cares?" answer was annoying and dismissive. And I feel like Ayo as a comedian and a comedy writer who's friends with a lot of comedians and comedy writers acting like The Bear belongs in the same category as Abbott Elementary and Hacks is a little... disingenuous. And apparently Laraine Newman deleted her "fuck The Bear" tweet, but I bet a lot of people in comedy circles agree with her lol.

Anyway, yay Hacks!

It literally doesn't have anything to do with her though.

The studios decide everything.

The studio decided to submit
" Get out " in the best comedy category at the golden globe's.

That had nothing to do with Daniel K or Jordan Peele.

The question needs to be presented to the studios and the Emmys themselves.

We already went through this with " Orange is the new black".

Ayo wrote an episode for What We Do in the Shadows to boot (which is very much decidedly a comedy).

Honestly don’t think it’s fair that people ask the actors this stuff. It’s not like they have a say in how awards categories are determined. I’d be dismissive too.

Ebon was obnoxious about it, but I thought Ayo was alright. She can't really slag off her own show doing category fraud, and she's already gotten more attention for her opinions than she's comfortable with.

I actually feel kind of bad for Ayo because the screencap Variety chose with the quote made it look like she was the one being dismissive.
