I'm shopping for a blue state to live in when I leave Florida in a few years. Vermont seems nice. So does Minnesota. I'm worried about surviving the cold in either state, though. Maryland also seems nice. I'd LOVE to go back to Oregon or live in Washington but I'm not sure I can afford either state.

I only lived in Baltimore so I can’t speak for anywhere else in Maryland, but I will say that I learned that it’s south of the Mason Dixon line the hard way (I was called a race traitor when I was holding my husband’s hand).

Were you in the county? That’s weird energy from the city. Considering we’re majority black… with sprinkles of POC here and there.

mte also I feel like it's different depending on whether she is Black or white. obviously it's a terrible comment either way, but there's levels to this...the latter is like some Klan shit

Does it only count if she lives in a shack in the woods, lol. Also, to be fair to Ana, she said she feels off the grid, not is off the grid.

Hey, I give them credit for having sense. These families that move off the grid and have no idea what that means and can't figure out how to have potable water and keep wildlife from eating their dog... I sort of hate watch Homestead Rescue because the level of romanticism and ignorance people take with them to live "off the grid" is ridiculous.

Wait there’s a show called Homestead rescue?? I mean of course there is, there’s a reality show for everything but this sounds so much like something I’d love to (hate) watch!

the best thing about not living in LA anymore, for me, is having real seasons. granted now i have 8 months of extreme winter and like, a few weeks of everything else, but i get a good couple days of colorful trees.

Makes sense. You have to be a particular type of person (read: slightly unhinged) to enjoy being constant tabloid fodder. I would totally go to ground if not promoting a project.

Yeah you can tell which celeb mean it when they don't enjoy the public attention vs the ones who clearly do.

I think even in Los Angeles you can go to ground, hide in plain sight. It might be easier for celebs who were born in the LA area to figure it out versus someone who moves as an adult when their career is in motion. For example are the paps hanging out in Alhambra?

Yeah, I think Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes live in LA and they are very low key. I'm sure the ~LA scene~ was just not for her.
