it takes a LOT for lorne to fire someone so i gotta wonder what happened here. i mean it could be as easy as she dropped a f bomb on live tv but it doesn't seem that way.

it doesn’t really take a lot for him to fire a one season cast member tbh. the Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah firing feels like the last truly “what the fuck” one, but them letting go a newbie cast member is usually par for the course.

and Jenny Slate didn’t get fired for dropping an f-bomb. she’s said it herself, it was about not finding the right way to showcase her voice on the show. I think that happened here.

yeah Taran has been pretty open about what happened at the end of his tenure, like there are a bunch of articles about it where he says that he was let go bc Lorne didn’t like that he was going to be missing episodes of the show to work on a movie, that Lorne was unsatisfied with that current cast he was part of bc they weren’t “stars”.

BUT! Taran did recently do an interview with Vulture and he said that he finally visited the show for the first time since leaving and that it was nice. he went with Vanessa Bayer, he said Lorne was very nice to his daughter. so hopefully he’s at the SNL50 celebration

Taran was making plans to work on something without Lorne's blessing and he was sacked. Jay was likely let go because Obama was no longer president and mostly did impressions on SNL. I felt like he never got a chance!

Tina Tina was and still is ICONIC to me. I'm happy she was ever even on the show just for that. "Wake Up! You got a boner about nothing!" "Hi-Lo, I'm coming to your house Jesus!" "Get out the way a baby ate a penny! Oh my gaaaahhh" I could keep going. Such great sketches.
