This is some bullshit excuse. my mom did not have great parents at all and they abandoned her pretty early on, she was basically on her own at 13 but when she became a young mom she put her kids first. she was very present for us and hell maybe even spoiled us a bit.

He can give love and time and attention and thats 90 percent of the gig.

Exactly. My mother was disowned at 16 and we grew up in a (sometimes overwhelmingly) loving household.

like no one taught my mom how to change diapers or how to feed a baby after they outgrow breastmilk. she figured that shit out. how to get us to go to bed, how to potty train us. if she could figure that out this guy should be able to as well. read a fucking parenting book. ask other parents.
