unless something is wrong with the phone I keep my phones for at least 4 years. This last one I gave to my mom, plan to do this going forward. She currently has the 8 and I have the 13. Still 2 more years before I plan to get a new one.
I still have my 8 - it’s getting pretty ratty and the battery life is terrible, but a new phone here costs AUD $1500+ and I just don’t want to shell out that kind of money for something I use to read ONTD and books and look at knitting on Instagram, so I’m hanging on to this one until it carks it.
The 8 is holding up pretty good. My mom really only uses it to scroll the web, YouTube(rarely), and a few word games. She would never buy an iphone. Her usual phones are $200 max. So she's wait for me to upgrade unless it breaks.
Same! It’s unintentionally been every fours years for me. I had the iPhone 6, then 10 and currently I have the 14 Plus. (The only reason I started with iPhones at the time…I was on vacation in NYC…was that I couldn’t find another phone not associated with a network or not locked into the US system)
The 8 was the first I paid for. I got into iPhone because my sister gave me her old phone when she upgraded. Before that I always bought cheap phones. I miss it a little because I was never on my phone before. Can't say the same now.
I’ve got a 13 that I bought as a refurb and I’m holding onto it for as long as possible. Only thing that bothers me is the battery life - planned obsolescence should be illegal.
