I dont know what that would even be. OG Sandman is much less like the even specifically Gaimanier version now, it's 110% his vision. No one and I mean no one is sadder about it than me but just let it all go so we can find peace. I want to cry like all the time when I think about how it and his other works helped get me through my own trauma, just jfc its all grotesque.

I was so happy we were finally getting a genuinely good version of Sandman

yeah and the cast are soooo amazing. idk if they can find someone who can copy his style while somehow understanding his new changed vision with 0 input from him then go ahead, but it seems kind of impossible to me when its an intense auteur. maybe im being negative idk.

Even if they brought someone else in who was capable of copying his style, he would still benefit financially from the production because it would still be based on his IP. He'd also benefit from having developed the series and being an executive producer.

I don't think you're being negative, I think you're being realistic. Sadly (for the fans), the only way to ensure he does not benefit is to can everything.

You are so right, this needs to die because he cannot be allowed to make another cent. Im just trying to make myself and maybe others feel better about the actual loss immediately by arguing that theres no world where we could get more out of it anyway. Its not going to be good without him, and hes no good so really theres no need to hope or dwell on it. Absolutely rotten to someone like kirby and gwendoline, amazing people. I hope he understands how much hes fucked everyone over professionally as well as personally and his little attempts at being valiant aint doing shit. honestly for vivienne alone I hope thats an extra century in hell for him. david tennants going to be fine professionally but some of these were great breakout roles and opportunities that were coming to prominence in later seasons. none if it matters as much as him losing all opportunities to do this again and the victims finding peace, man did he ruin everything for everyone though.

I get it, bb. I'm not trying to police your reaction or feelings, just validate them, so I apologize if that's how it came off. It's truly tragic that a single man can do so much damage to so many lives. Hopefully this is just the start of long, fruitful careers for everyone else and a journey towards justice and peace that the victims have long been denied.

We need to hold a funeral for the show to help us let go.
